Be a part of the Stand UP Advocacy track on the March 25 - 28, 2012 Panim el Panim seminar!

Does your Chapter or Region participate in Stand UP? Do you want to learn how to be a Stand UP leader and sharpen your leadership skills while thinking about today’s current issues?

If you answered yes, then be a part of this exciting opporutnity in Washington, DC. 

The program features advocacy training on a wide range of current topics, a community service project and the opportunity to lobby your elected officials on Capitol Hill!

Teens will focus on each element of Stand UP - a great opportunity to strengthen the skills that you have already acquired, or to get started if you haven’t gotten involved before!

Who can attend?

The seminar is open to BBYO teens interested in cultivating their Stand UP skills. 9th - 12th graders welcome!

What will we be doing?

What does the tuition cost include?

The $325 tuition includes all program costs, including hotel accommodations (4 people to a room), kosher meals, transportation within the program, and $100 towards a Summer of Impact experience.

Are there scholarships or discounts available?

Yes. You can apply for need-based scholarship. Please complete the scholarship form.

How do I register?

Where will the participants be staying?

The seminar will be held at the Bethesda Hyatt. The hotel is conveniently located just outside of Washington, DC, and it is right on the metro, which will allow for quick and easy transportation throughout the District.

How do we get to Washington, DC and Panim el Panim?

Participants are responsible for providing their own transportation to Washington, DC.

Three airports serve the greater DC area. We strongly recommend Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), which is the closest airport. Teens arriving at DCA will be met by a BBYO Panim Institute staff member in the baggage claim area at 2:00 pm.

Union Station is the primary train hub for Washington, DC. Amtrak, MARC, and Virginia Rail Express all run to Union Station. A staff member will be at the Amtrak terminal in Union Station to assist participants at 2:00 pm.

What time should I arrive on March 25?

The seminar is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm.

• By Plane: Participants should book flights to DCA scheduled to arrive by 2:00 pm.

• By Train: Participants should book a train scheduled to arrive in Union Station by 2:00 pm.

• By Car: Participants should be dropped off at the hotel between 3:00 and 3:15 pm.

What do I wear in Washington, DC?

The seminar dress code is mainly business casual with exceptions for your visit to Capitol Hill. Click here for a complete packing list.

Who will be staffing?

The program will be staffed by BBYO staff and BBYO PANIM Institute educators.

What time should I depart on March 28th?

The seminar is scheduled to conclude at 2:15 pm.

The BBYO Panim Institute will provide transportation to DCA and Union Station.

By Plane: Participants should book flights from DCA scheduled to depart after 5:00 pm.

By Train: Participants should book a train scheduled to depart Union Station after 4:00 pm

By Car: Participants should be picked up at the hotel between 2:15 and 2:30 pm
